Neuropsychological and cognitive assessments at Delta Neuropsychology and the NDIS
At Delta Neuropsychology Melbourne, Evelyn Chen has extensive experience in completing neuropsychology assessments for individuals who have NDIS funding or are trying to access NDIS. Individuals who have Self-Managed or Plan-Managed Funding are able to use their funding to access neuropsychology assessments at Delta Neuropsychology.
Neuropsychological assessment can be completed within an NDIS plan for Capacity Building purposes. The assessment report will address the six NDIA domains and the impact these difficulties have on social and economic participation.
Why complete a neuropsychology or cognitive assessment?
A neuropsychology assessment allows provision of further information to the NDIS regarding your current and future support needs. The following are areas that a neuropsychologist will be able to address in your application to the NDIS or during a plan review:
-
Provide further evidence and support regarding diagnoses, including Intellectual Developmental Disorder (Intellectual Disability), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (e.g., as a consequence of a stroke), dementias, and other mental health conditions (e.g., Schizophrenia, Depression)
-
Provide recommendations regarding support needs, including Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), if appropriate.
-
Provide education, strategies and recommendations to clients, their family/carers and support workers.
-
Provide recommendations to assist support staff in the implementation of behavioural support plans.
-
Provide recommendations on increasing capacity for employment.
If you are unfamiliar with the NDIS, the NDIS website provides more information regarding how the NDIS works.
